Hair Goals! Combatting Dry Winter Hair

Hair Goals - we got ‘em - always! But during the winter months, our priority hair goal is to keep our hair as soft, smooth, hydrated & moisturized, and healthy as possible. The dry air and weather, as well as wearing hats, can suck the moisture out of your hair, often leaving it dry, dull, flat, and lifeless! We don’t want this for anyone, so we’re happy to share that there is a way to keep your tresses healthy during the harsh winter months.

Meet Aveda’s Dry Remedy hair care system! It’s designed specifically to transform dry hair with the hydrating power of certified organic buriti oil from the “tree of life” in Brazil. How fitting! This system consists of four key products that infuse dry hair with the moisture it needs (and craves).

Dry Remedy Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner: Both drench hair with intense moisture.

Dry Remedy Moisturizing Oil: A leave-in treatment that instantly moisturizes dry hair and dry ends. It’s perfect to use on dry hair, but if your hair needs an extra boost, mix a couple of drops in with the conditioner before you apply it while in the shower. If you use it on dry hair, use 2-4 drops, and do not rinse out. It’s great for those pesky flyaways, too.

Dry Remedy Moisturizing Masque: Use as needed depending on your hair type, but you’ll likely use this in place of the conditioner. After shampooing, smooth on the masque from roots to ends, leave in for 2-5 minutes, then rinse. If you shampoo and condition every day, then you can do the masque once or twice a week for an added moisture treatment.

The aroma of this product line is amazing - its composition is Aveda's own pure-fume aroma with certified organic lavender, bergamot, ginger lily and other pure flower and plant essences. It is a very warm, rich aroma, without being overpowering - think comfort and warmth without the overbearing scent.

While Dry Remedy is good for most hair types, it’s great for hair that is thick, coarse, prone to serious dryness, and has high porosity (absorbs and holds moisture, but resists moisture at the same time). Finer-haired friends, do not be afraid! You can use this product line as well, but we recommend using the Moisturizing Oil on your ends as a starting point, and perhaps the Moisturizing Masque once per week. If you’re interested in using the whole system, and your hair needs fit the Dry Remedy bill, start out with the shampoo and conditioner, and build from there.

This product line also pairs very well with Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Nourishing Styling Creme, Brilliant Damage Control, and Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair.
